Position Summary:

The Commissions Manager will be responsible for assisting with planning, designing, implementing and administering Carousel’s Commission programs. This role will be required to prepare and distribute commission and sales reports to managers and executives. In addition, the Commissions Manager will be accountable for overseeing the daily activities of the commission’s team, including coaching, goal setting, performance management and mentoring.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Commission Plan Management
  • Responsible for working with management to design commission plans that will attract, retain, and motivate sales employees while ensuring measurements and payouts are in line with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Reviews commission plan design to evaluate competitiveness and compliance.
  • Gather data (internal/external) and prepare recommendations to enhance commission structure/plan design.
  • Accountable for ensuring the commission preparation process and policies are followed.
  • Assists in creating, modifying and implementing commission policies and procedures.
  • Prepares communications detailing commission plan(s) and policies to the sales team, working with Marketing and Training to develop training webinars
  • Set up and manage internal site for frequently asked questions regarding the commission plan and policies
  • Provides recommendations to implement operational process changes or controls to streamline the commission process
  • Works effectively with Managers and employees from various departments including Finance, Sales, Service and Engineering
  • Understands the policies for calculation of gross margin for the purpose of commission payouts and ensures costing is applied appropriately


  1. Reporting
  • Responsible for reporting commission and sales analysis to the Executive team on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and distribute commission accrual reports to accounting on a monthly basis.
  • Provide monthly sales reporting and analysis to the management team.
  • Develop, implement and/or modify existing data input controls and sales processes to ensure measurements can be quantified, analyzed and reported.



III. Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
  • Discuss employee development opportunities and identify career paths within Carousel.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
  • Review employee time off requests in HRMS.
  • Clearly communicate job expectations/consequences of employees by training, cross-training, coaching,

counseling, directing, evaluating the work of subordinates to increase their work output and work quality.




  • Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major required. CPA desirable.5+ years of experience in accounting and sales environment. Excellent computer skills; advanced Excel knowledge required. Prior experience with financial reporting and auditing with a solid understanding of accounting processes.  Strong analytical and reporting abilities. Knowledge of designing and managing commission or incentive based pay structures.Ability to interact and develop relationships with all levels of personnel, including senior management. Proven written and verbal communications skills.Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
