    The Audio-Visual Design Engineer will provide support by identifying best practices, product support, services support, and quality assurance oversight. A key role of the Design Engineer is to develop and maintain the CI AutoCAD practice.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Effectively engages other parts of CI to strengthen propositions and overcome barriers to success.
    • Review internal CI Sale Engineered generated of Audio Visual project design requests and provides design support as required.
    • Works with a reasonable level of autonomy seeking appropriate assistance where necessary.
    • Will work with Video Sales Engineering team to document solutions for implementation.
    • Empowered to mandate CI audio visual best practices are being met in way of design, delivery, and supportability.
    • Solid understanding of IP networking.
    • Work within the Audio-Visual documentation templates (i.e. drawing standards).
    • Interact in person by phone, &/or e-mail directly with project team and/or client.
    • Must demonstrate continued technical education through vendor and/or industry certifications.
    • May act as a mentor to Sales Engineers.



    Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • A college degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • 5 or more years in the Professional Audio Visual design and integration industry.
    • 3 or more years of experience:
      • As an InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist – (CTS-D & or CTS-I).
      • AutoCAD experience.
      • Control Systems Design to include Crestron and AMX.
    • Understanding of Video Bridging Infrastructure.
    • Experience and/or strong working knowledge of multiple videoconferencing platforms.
    • Ability to embrace direction and vision and work effectively within that scope.
    • Strong attention to details, highly organized, and self-motivated.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-end customer focused corporate environment.
    • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
    • Accountable for client (both internal and external) satisfaction; maintains/builds effective working relationships.
    • Expertise in standard tools, concepts, practices and procedures of the Professional Audio Visual, and Video Conferencing.
    • Demonstrate scheduling flexibility
    • Experience with Microsoft Windows based platform (including Microsoft Word and Excel).
    • Experience with Web-based applications.
    • Vendor specific certifications in Audio Visual Industry (i.e. ICIA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D, EAVA, CVE, DMC-E, ACE), Video conferencing certifications are a strong plus.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task to achieve a high level of project design output.
    • Programming (AMX, Crestron, Extron) experience is a plus.
    • Experience with AutoCAD required and Visio a plus.
    • Experience in provisioning Polycom Sound Structure, BiAMP, and or Clear One Audio Processors is a plus.

    • Regularly sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and similar machines.
    • Regularly use basic communication skills (ability to talk and/or hear).
    • Occasionally reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Consistently utilize specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
