Responsibilities

The Inside Renewals Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving retention, expansion, and customer satisfaction for SMB accounts. This customer-facing role is responsible for managing high-volume renewals, proactively identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring smooth contract transitions, including customer migrations to new platforms and solutions.

 

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Renewal Operations, Sales Leadership, and Customer Success to craft compelling renewal strategies, optimize customer adoption and engagement, and support long-term account growth. This role is critical in streamlining renewal processes and ensuring a seamless customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Renewal Management: Proactively manage and drive the renewal process, ensuring that contracts are renewed on time and customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and positioning the value of NWN’s offerings to meet those needs.
  • Engaging and Closing Renewals: Lead renewal discussions with customers, address concerns, and negotiate agreements to successfully close renewals.
  • Collaborative Selling: Partner with Renewal Operations, Sales Teams, and Customer Success to identify expansion and upsell opportunities within your portfolio.
  • Proposal Development: Assist in the creation of compelling customer proposals, ensuring accuracy in pricing and alignment with customer goals.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and track renewal pipelines, ensuring that all renewal milestones are met and that opportunities for additional revenue are maximized.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze customer purchase and renewal history to inform strategic decisions and recommendations for renewals and expansions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of renewals, including resolving any customer issues that arise during the renewal process.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on renewal activities, performance metrics, and outcomes to key stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in sales, renewals, or customer success, ideally in a technology environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams.
    • Proven ability to manage high-volume accounts and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
    • Experience with CRM systems and sales tools, with an emphasis on maintaining accurate records and managing pipelines.
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks, while also contributing to team goals and initiatives.
